Swetcha Gandluru

I went for a 4 day internship at Yashoda hospitals where we saw how a life of a doctor is. We saw the different fields of medicine and how different but yet interconnected each field is. We got to see surgeries, the emergency room, pathology lab where they allowed us to test blood and identify its type.

• Monitored patients' conditions and progress to reevaluate treatment.
• Collected, recorded and maintained patient medical history, reports and examination results.
• Developed knowledge in subjects such as knee replacements, cancer etc. by attending frequent talks from facility specialists.
• Got trained to do CPR on training mannequin.

This trust helps kids every year with providing them blankets, medicine and even free HPV vaccines for girls. During my volunteering with this trust, we gave free health checkups to kids who were living in slums. We treated and diagnosed them and gave them all of box of important medicines and taught them when to use which medicine.

• Mentored at-risk youth, offering guidance and support to help them make positive life choices.
• Promoted community wellness by coordinating and participating in health education workshops.
• Provided free HPV vaccines to girls.

The Rotary Club in my school partnered with the Rotary club Of Hyderabad to execute community services almost every month. As one of the 15 members of the club, down below are the community services we did,

• Day trip to a tribal village in Srisailam to provide food, blankets, sanitary pads etc. for people living there. Also raised enough money to build public bathrooms for the village.
• Plantation drive near a lake and planted total of 200 saplings.
• Cleansing drive beside our school and filled up 73 bags of trash.
• Supported 'Kids for tigers' foundation and went to 5 government schools to inform them about saving animals.
• Multiple drives organized by us inside our school like 'green diwali', 'save water day' etc.
• Participated in regular meetings with management where ideas were shared regarding improvements that could be made within various aspects of the club facilities.
• Set up promotional displays and equipment for special events and activities.
• Held and interschool competition called 'Creativity for a cause'

I have participated in multiple Mock United nations Conference (MUN) and have won a few prizes.

• Meridian MUN was my first ever MUN where I was in the committee UNICEF and represented the country lebanon. I won a high commendation prize.
• RockMUN I participated in the committee WEF as the personality of Greta Thunberg and won runner up.
• I have been on the secretariat team in my school for the past 2 years and organized 2 MUNs. I was deputy head logistics for the first year and Head logistics for the second year.
• In the YDP delegates conference I won honorable mention.
• Assisted with day-to-day operations, working efficiently and productively with all team members.
• Proven ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
• Developed strong communication and organizational skills through working on group projects.
