US Domestic Settlements

• Responsible for managing risk by investigating settlement date & fail trades that settle via DTC
• Work on ID exceptions like VPDQ and VDEL activities at the start of the day to resolve any duplicate settlements on Value date
• Pushing the deliveries out in the market and accepting trades from Potential match, multi match and unmatched queues and escalating mismatches to MO/FO
• Work with Sales assistants, traders and middle office to resolve discrepancies if any
• Realigning the positions between DTC and FED, pledge releases and also requesting positions {if any} to be released from memo seg
• Monitoring Debit cap issues during the day and request for additional funding into the firm
• Processing Asset transfer requests sent by respective teams via PBS and BR application
• Processing of SPO charges updated by different teams and making necessary book keeping entries @ EOD
• Working on EOD balancing and ensuring all the settled trades are accounted for on the same day and any exceptions to be raised to senior management and posting the balance to suspense a/c’s
• Working on various reconciliation activities like customer breaks, COD reconciliations, CNS reconciliations and resolving various other stock and cash breaks
• Sound knowledge in clearing product fails on Equities, Corporate Bonds, Municipal bonds, Asset backed securities, Money market instruments and Agency products
• As a POD leader, identifying the potential training requirements, scheduling the training, cross-training, handling escalations, handling daily calls with stakeholders
• Reporting start of the day and close of business day fail trade dashboards to the senior management & conduct extensive research to ensure that control is observed in the entire trades to settle.

Organizational Achievements :

• Automated a manual activity through system enhancement which helped bank save 1 FTE
• Automated wire payment activity through OAQ enhancement which eliminated risk of manual intervention
• To avoid the risk of firm short position on a syndicate deal, secondary trades automation was put in place which helps in sending out primary trades to settle before secondary

Prime Brokerage Operations

• Worked as a client Account Manager for hedge fund clients and assist them with settlement queries for all markets (Settlements in APAC, Central European, Emerging and DTC markets)
• Liaising with settlement teams for trade settlement, trade enquiry, missing any trade financial details
• Preparing daily client reports regarding the trade status and reporting them to client within the deadline
• Reporting start of the day & close of business day fail trade dashboards to senior management which help in analyzing day to day activity and capturing capacity
• Actively working with teams on BUY-IN Risk, High value trade as single point of contact between client & settlements, ensure risk is covered
