Product Description
Ericsson manufactures core network Elements like switches, routers, IPDSLAMs etc. A Network Management System (NMS) software known as Public Ethernet Manager (PEM) is designed to control and manage such network elements. PEM helps in providing service provisioning to customers and fault management of these nodes. PEM also provides a northbound interface (NBI), to accommodate direct and easy interface with an overlaying Operations Support System (OSS).
PEM is developed using Core Java, where server – client interaction is through CORBA. The configuration and management of the network elements is primarily done through SNMP.
